"Eclipse" has mounted a quick, successful assault on 21 foreign markets in which the vampire romancer launched simultaneously with its domestic opening.

The Summit pic rang up an estimated $16.2 million in international boxoffice from Italy, Brazil and other territories. Additional markets including Spain, Australia and Mexico debuted the pic Thursday.

France, Germany, South Korea and Japan will launch "Eclipse" in coming weeks.
