Robert Pattinson tipped for an OSCAR

In Water for Elephanst, Robert stars as Jacob Jankowski, a veterinary student who drops out of college to work as a vet for a travelling circus.

In the film he falls for a circus performer played by Reese Witherspoon, and tries to defend her from her abusive, animal trainer husband.

His co-star Christoph Waltz – who picked up a Best Supporting Role Oscar for his part Inglourious Basterds earlier this year – has praised the star, tipping him to receive the prestigious Oscar prize next year.

‘It's in my house,’ Christoph said when questioned on his gong, ‘but the way things are looking, I might have to hand it off to Rob next year!”

Sarah Gruen also spoke recently to The Dallas Morning News about Robert's performance:

'I think Robert Pattinson is really going to shine in that role. He’s so dedicated,' she said in an interview with The Dallas Morning News.

‘This was a rough-and-tumble shoot, and when I was there on the set, he’d be lying in the dirt for 18 straight takes in a row, and he would nail every single one.

He's a nice guy, and he reads. He always has a book in his hand. My family got cameos. I'm in a scene where Rosie [the elephant] is raiding a produce stand.
